About The Health Primer
The Health Primer exists to occupy one specific place: where you go before you decide. Not instead of your doctor. Not a supplement storefront with articles bolted on. A foundation for understanding a health topic, evaluating what’s being sold around it, and deciding what’s actually worth your time and money.
Our Mission
Search for almost any health topic relevant to getting older and you’ll find two kinds of results: generic content written for no one in particular, or product-first “reviews” that exist to sell rather than to inform. Neither actually answers the question a smart adult over 50 is asking: is this real, and is it worth it for me? The Health Primer exists to close that gap — plain-language education, honest product evaluation, and free tools, built specifically around the decisions adults 50 and older are actually making.
Who The Health Primer Is For
We write for adults 50 and older, and for the people helping a parent or partner make a health-related decision. That means no condescension, no fear-based marketing, and no assuming our readers need things over-simplified — just clear, respectful information delivered at a pace that respects your time.
How We Make Money — and Why We Tell You
The Health Primer earns commissions when readers purchase certain products through links on this site, primarily through the ClickBank affiliate network. We disclose this clearly, near the links themselves, not just buried in a footer — see our Affiliate Disclosure. Commission never influences our editorial score. We use one consistent scoring rubric for every product regardless of which network or commission rate is attached to it, and we say so plainly when a product isn’t a good fit rather than finding a way to recommend everything.
What We Promise
Every article, review, comparison, and tool explains not just what to think but why. No product’s score is ever adjusted for commission. Every tool gives a real, useful result whether or not you click an affiliate link. We tell you plainly what we don’t know, as readily as what we do. The Health Primer is published as an independent brand, not around any individual’s name or credentials — our standards, methodology, and evidence sourcing are what you’re trusting, and they’re fully documented in How We Review Products and our Editorial Policy.
